HAMMERSMITH QUAKERS are a faith community who work for peace, equality and a sustainable future. Our Meetings for Worship are an opportunity for silent spiritual contemplation and exploration.
Quakers have been active in Hammersmith for over 350 years - this new building (2020) means that Quakers continue to offer spiritual refuge to new and old friends.
MEETING for WORSHIP Sunday, 11am - 12noon
Come and join us for an hour of quiet worship. Arrive for an 11am start; there is the oppotunity to meet us ask questions afterwards, with coffee.
Our Meeting House embodies the Quaker values of simplicity and calm. The design makes for a beautiful space.
It was built sustainably with plenty of wood, is energy efficient, and has gardens at the front and back

VOLUNTEERING
Hammersmith Meeting is what is known as a Sanctuary Meeting where we have made a fomal coomtiment to building a culture of welcome.
Sanctuary Meetings provide a safe and welcoming space for newcomers, support local initiatives, and work to change laws on destitution, detention, and deportation. We work very closely with the local council to do this
UKRAINIAN OPEN HOUSE AND SUPPORT FOR DISPLACED PEOPLE
We have been running monthly and weekly events since November 2022. Ukranian refugees are invited to come for friendship, advice and a place to relax and share stories. We have developed this event with LBHF.
It has been running since the invasion of Ukraine.
ENGLISH CONVERSATION CLUB
In addition we run a weekly ENGLISH CONVERSATION CLUB at an Anglican Church in Holland Road.
This happens every week on a Saturday. The club is for people who lack confidence speaking in English.
At these events we have east Europeans, Ukrainians, people from Africa, Iran, Mongolia, Afghanistand, Iran, Gaza, India and Syria. They sit down with first language English Speakers and practice their English and get to grips with English idioms.
